Medical Affairs Presentation Design

Complex science deserves clear communication.

Scientific accuracy is essential. But accuracy alone does not guarantee that an audience will understand what matters.

SlideSource helps Medical Affairs teams turn complex scientific data, evidence, and messages into clear, effective presentations without oversimplifying the science.

The problem

The science can be right and the slide can still miss the point.

Medical Affairs presentations often contain complex evidence, multiple endpoints, detailed charts, important qualifications, references, and required context.

The challenge is not simply fitting that information onto a slide. It is helping the audience quickly understand what matters, where to look, what the evidence shows, and why it is important.

Topic titles instead of message titles

A title such as “Phase 3 Results” identifies the subject but does not help the audience understand the conclusion.

Topic Phase 3 Results

Message Treatment A achieved higher response rates through Week 24

Everything competes for attention

When every chart, number, footnote, and callout has equal visual weight, the audience has to work out the hierarchy for itself.

Complex charts require decoding

The audience should spend its attention interpreting the evidence, not figuring out how to read the slide.

Proof

Same evidence. Clearer communication.

What was getting in the way

The title named the topic rather than the finding. The chart, the endpoint table, and the footnotes all carried equal visual weight, so nothing told the audience where to start or what the slide was arguing.

What we changed

The title now states the conclusion. The primary comparison is given prominence, the key response rates are pulled out as callouts, and the supporting detail is kept but moved below the point it supports.

Why it matters to the audience

A reviewer or clinician takes the finding from the slide in seconds rather than reconstructing it from the table, which leaves the discussion free for the science instead of the reading.

Good scientific presentation design does not change the evidence. It changes how effectively the audience can understand it.

Capabilities

More than slide production.

Our role starts before the slide is designed. We help determine what the audience needs to understand, then build the story and visuals that make that understanding easier.

Clarify the story

We work with your team to understand the audience, objective, evidence, and message before deciding how the information should appear.

Visualize complex science

Our presentation designers and technical graphics specialists turn complex data, concepts, and processes into visuals that are easier to understand and discuss.

Build the presentation

We create new presentations, redesign existing decks, develop individual scientific graphics, and provide ongoing presentation support when teams need additional capacity.

Prepare for the real meeting

We think about how slides will actually be presented, discussed, reviewed, revised, and used, not simply how they look on a designer’s screen.

Where we help

Medical Affairs presentation design across scientific communications

Advisory Boards & Scientific Exchange

Materials that support genuine scientific discussion, not one-way presentation, and hold up under expert questioning.

Congress & Scientific Meetings

Oral sessions, symposia, and posters built for the room and the time slot you actually have.

Field Medical

Presentations MSLs can carry into the field, adapt to the conversation in front of them, and keep accurate.

Evidence & Study-Results Communication

Topline results, HEOR, and evidence presentations where the data has to be both precise and quickly understood.

Medical Education & Training

Educational material, internal scientific and strategy meetings, and training that teaches rather than simply covers the content.

Scientific & Publication Graphics

Individual figures, mechanism visuals, and publication graphics, whether or not a full deck is involved.

How we work

Use us like an extension of your team.

Some clients bring us in for one high-priority presentation. Others use SlideSource as an ongoing presentation resource when their internal team needs additional capacity or specialized scientific visualization expertise.

  1. Understand

Audience, purpose, science, timeline, and review environment.

  2. Collaborate

Work directly with Medical Affairs, Scientific Communications, medical writers, SMEs, and other stakeholders.

  3. Develop

Story structure, slides, charts, graphics, and visual systems.

  4. Refine

Support review cycles, revisions, data updates, and final presentation preparation.

SlideSource Library

Get more value from the presentation assets you create.

A strong scientific slide may require significant investment in data review, medical input, approval, visualization, and design. That investment should not disappear inside yesterday’s PowerPoint deck.

For organizations that create and reuse significant volumes of scientific presentation content, SlideSource can also help keep those assets organized, current, traceable, and reusable through SlideSource Library.

FAQ

Working with SlideSource

What types of Medical Affairs presentations does SlideSource design?

Advisory boards and scientific exchange, congress and scientific meeting presentations, field medical decks, HEOR and evidence presentations, topline and study-results presentations, medical education and training material, and individual scientific and publication graphics.

Can SlideSource work with an existing presentation?

Yes, and it is one of the most common ways teams start with us. We can restructure and redesign a deck you already have, rebuild specific slides, or rework the charts and scientific graphics while leaving the rest intact.

Can you help with only a few complex slides?

Yes. There is no minimum deck. Teams often bring us a small number of slides that carry the hardest science, a mechanism visual, a complex efficacy figure, or a data table that is not landing, and handle the rest internally.

How do you work with Medical Affairs teams and medical writers?

We work directly alongside them. Medical writers, SMEs, and Medical Affairs leads own the science and the message; we work out how that message should be structured and shown. In practice that means joining the working sessions rather than receiving a finished deck and returning it styled.

How do you maintain scientific accuracy through design and revision?

Your team stays the source of truth for the science throughout. We do not alter data, claims, or qualifications, and we design charts and visuals so that qualifications and references stay attached to the evidence rather than being dropped for visual tidiness. Every change goes back to your team for confirmation.

Can you support accelerated timelines?

Often, yes. Compressed timelines are common in Medical Affairs, particularly around topline results and congress deadlines. The earlier you tell us the date, the more we can do with it, so it is worth asking even when the schedule looks difficult.

Do we need SlideSource Library to use your presentation design services?

No. Presentation design and SlideSource Library are independent services and most design engagements do not involve Library at all. They work well together when an organization creates and reuses scientific content at volume, but neither requires the other.
